On April 26, 2024, the Remuneration and Nomination Committee recommended to the Supervisory Board the candidacy of Mr. Cezary Kocik for the position of President of the Management Board of mBank – stated in the announcement. The Supervisory Board accepted the recommendation.

The appointment is still conditional on a positive assessment of the candidate’s “suitability” and the consent of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.

The new president will take up the position after the current president of the management board, Cezary Stypułkowski, completed his term of office. His term of office was extended on March 28 and ends on the date of the general meeting of shareholders approving the financial statements for 2024. Therefore, a candidate for president may wait 11 months for the position. or expect his current boss to move to another bank, with many jobs at state-owned banks recently becoming vacant.

Cezary Kocik has been associated with the mBank Group since 2004. He gained experience in corporate, investment and retail banking, as well as in the risk area. Since 2012, he has been vice-president of the management board for retail banking at mBank.

He is a graduate of the University of Łódź, majoring in Finance and Banking. In 2015, he completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP 189) at Harvard Business School, and in March 2018, the Strategic Management in Banking course at INSEAD. He has a securities broker’s license.

Before joining mBank, he gained experience in the area of ​​investment banking, restructuring and debt collection (at PBG Bank) and in the retail area as a branch director in Łódź – the fifth largest branch of Bank Pekao SA.
