The medical teams in the revitalization campaign to provide family planning and reproductive health services in Sharkia Governorate, under the slogan “Your Right to Organize,” provided their medical services, which concluded their work hours ago, their services to about 195,000 women. The total number of beneficiaries reached 114,841 women, while the total number of those receiving family planning methods (contraception) reached 79,442 women during the campaign in its first and second phases, in addition to providing pregnancy follow-up services, ultrasound examination, and medical examination of patients in the specializations of gynecology, obstetrics, and internal medicine. Dr. Hisham Shawqi Masoud, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sharkia Governorate, explained that the activities of the revitalization campaign to provide family planning and reproductive health services in Sharkia Governorate under the slogan “Your Right to Organize”, which was launched on February 18 in two stages; The first phase lasted for five days and included 10 health departments: Al-Qanayat – Awlad Saqr – Mashtoul Al-Souq – Abu Kabir – Al-Husseiniyah – 10th of Ramadan – Al-Ibrahimiyya – Abu Omar facility – Belbeis – Abu Hammad, while the second phase of the campaign began on February 24 for a period of Five days as well and included 9 health departments: Zagazig – Kafr Saqr – Hahia – Minya Al-Qamh – Faqus – Deirb Negm – New Salhiya – Al-Qurain – San Al-Hajar.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sharkia Governorate, in his statements today, Thursday, indicated that the “Your Right to Organize” campaign includes family planning services and reproductive health services, such as pregnancy follow-up, ultrasound examination, and gynecology examination, in addition to medical examination in the specialties of internal medicine and children.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), family planning is one of the ten greatest achievements in the field of public health in the twentieth century, and it is also one of the essential means of curbing population growth, which is unsustainable due to its negative effects on the economy and the environment, in addition to To its impact on development efforts made at the national and regional levels.

For her part, Dr. Aida Attia, Director of the Family Planning Department in the Directorate of Health Affairs in Sharkia Governorate, explained that the campaign aims to provide its services free of charge to all women, pointing out that the campaign, in its first and second phases, provided its services through 484 fixed family planning clinics in medical units, centers and hospitals, supported by the service of specialists. And 26 mobile medical clinics to ensure that the service reaches remote and slum areas in hamlets and villages throughout the governorate. 208 trained doctors, 674 nurses, and 911 rural leaders and population educators participated in the campaign.

In the same context, Mahmoud Abdel Fattah, Director of the Directorate’s Media Office, reported that the first phase of the revitalization campaign to provide family planning and reproductive health services reached the total number of beneficiaries during the first phase, including 55,018 women, in addition to providing family planning methods during it to 40,077 women. While the total number of beneficiaries during the second phase of the campaign reached 59,823 women, and the total number of beneficiaries of family planning methods reached 39,435 women, bringing the number of beneficiaries during the campaign in its first and second phases to 114,841 women, while the total number of women receiving family planning methods reached (Contraception) 79 thousand and 442 women.
