In the country, unfortunately, the percentage is small, but every year we observe an increasing consumption of these products.

How much does a kilogram of hummus cost?

Gabriel Bujor – collection center administrator: From 25 lei per kilogram, it can reach somewhere up to 60 lei per kg, we are talking about frozen mushrooms, dried ones can reach much higher prices, they can reach up to 600 lei per kg .

Ten kilograms of raw mushrooms are used for one kilogram of dried mushrooms. Consumed in any form, they bring a lot of benefits to the body.

Daniela Bălănucă, nutritionist: It is a mushroom rich in carbohydrates, proteins and low in fats and calories. It can be easily integrated into a vegetarian diet. The most reported effects are oxidizing, antitumor, antibacterial, antiviral, hepatoprotective and regulating intestinal transit.

The most common preparation in our country is polenta with mushrooms and cream, but mushrooms can also be eaten with meat, rice or pasta.

This year the production was extremely low. Administrators say they have collected less than 60 tons, compared to 300 tons – production in past years.
