The government has adopted a draft amendment under which digital platforms will have to inform the Tax Office about people selling online. We know when the new regulations will come into force.

We have already informed about it several times European DAC-7 directive, which requires digital platforms to report to the Tax Office about people selling online. Its implementation in Poland has been delayed, but the government has just adopted the draft amendment. We know when the new regulations will come into force, he reports Republic.

The tax office will find out about sellers on the Internet

The new regulations assume that online sales platforms will be obliged to report to the Tax Office about online sellers. The pool will include all companies and individuals who make 30 or more transactions per year or their amount exceeds the ceiling of PLN 2,000. euros (even if they are smaller in quantity).

This means that OLX, Allegro, Booking and Vinted will have to provide information about this type of person to the Tax Office. The DAC-7 directive is intended to create a common, EU mechanism for the exchange of information obtained on sellers between European Union member states. However, there is no doubt that in this way, online sellers who exceed the assumed limits will not avoid paying the appropriate taxes.

The new regulations were supposed to come into force in Poland from January 1, 2023, but they were not implemented on time. The reporting obligation will come into force on July 1, 2024. However, what is extremely important, digital platforms will have to provide all data from the beginning of 2023.
