The Islamic State (IS) jihadist group announced on Saturday that four of its members carried out Friday’s attack in a concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow. According to Russian investigators, at least 133 people were killed. TASR informs about it on the basis of the service of the agencies AP, AFP and DPA.

“The attack was carried out by four IS fighters armed with submachine guns, pistols, knives and firebombs,” IS said on one of its Telegram channels. He added that the attack was aimed at “thousands of Christians in a music hall” and was part of a war with countries “fighting Islam”.

On Saturday, IS also published photos of the alleged four bombers, but their faces were edited so that they could not be recognized.

The Friday evening attack claimed at least 133 lives, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (Sledkom) announced in its latest update. In the Crocus City Hall building in the city of Krasnogorsk, more bodies were found while clearing the debris, the search for possible victims continues.

Russian authorities previously said they had detained 11 suspects, at least four of whom were directly involved in the attack.

The Afghan branch of the Islamic State has already claimed responsibility. A source from the American intelligence services told the AP that the US secret service confirmed the responsibility of this group.

Russian propagandists claimed that Ukraine was behind the attack, which strongly denied it, DPA reminds.

Russia is fighting IS in Syria, the jihadist group is also present in the predominantly Muslim Russian republics of Ingushetia, Dagestan and Chechnya. It has already attacked in Russia, but not to such an extent.
