The Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai called on private schools, international universities, and early childhood centers in the emirate to be flexible and provide the “distance learning” option, to meet the needs of students, teachers, and administrative staff, who are still facing challenges resulting from the exceptional weather condition.

This comes at a time when the educational community in Dubai is preparing to continue “in-person education” within educational facilities, after converting the study to the “distance learning” system since April 16, due to the exceptional weather conditions that the Emirates witnessed. The decision to transfer the study was made to preserve the safety of students, administrative and teaching staff.

The Director General of the Authority, Aisha Miran, accompanied by the work team, made inspection visits to private schools and early childhood centers, to determine their readiness to receive students after the exceptional weather situation.

Miran appreciated the efforts of government work teams and educational leaders for their dedication to returning life to normal and providing a safe environment for our students.

The Authority works to enhance the quality of private education in the Emirate of Dubai, by providing support to schools, universities, students, parents, educators and partners, to build an educational sector characterized by high quality and concerned with spreading an atmosphere of happiness and quality of life.

A report recently issued by the Authority stated that early childhood centers in Dubai have achieved rapid growth in the number of children enrolled since September 2022, with an annual increase of 15%, with more than 3,000 additional children enrolling during the last academic year, which witnessed the opening of 27 new centers. For early childhood, which indicates that the school education system in the Emirate of Dubai continues to strengthen its capabilities and is an attractive destination with various options for parents, at this important age stage in children’s lives, bringing the total number of early childhood centers in Dubai to about 250 centers receiving more than 23,500. child.

Private schools in Dubai also recorded a significant increase, as their number in the emirate reached 222 schools, including five new private schools that opened during the current academic year.

The number of students during the current academic year reached more than 365 thousand students, both male and female.

The authority reported – on its website – that the number of higher education institutions reached 38.
