On Tuesday, a 65-year-old man was arrested on probable cause on suspicion of extremely serious assault on a woman. The incident occurred over the weekend in the stairwell of her residence.
The man turned himself in to the police and has pleaded guilty to assault of the normal degree. He denies particularly serious crime.
– I don’t want to develop more of what has been said and revealed right now, says defender Jakob Lindgren.
The Bar Association has previously confirmed that the act has a connection to the woman’s professional practice. Court documents show she handles an estate where the man is one of the parties involved.

According to Today’s Law it is about an ongoing inheritance dispute, where the 65-year-old has tried to get the lawyer dismissed from the case. He was refused in the district court, but has appealed to the Court of Appeal. The man has claimed that the lawyer is biased, a view the other parties to the probate do not share.
Working lawyers with family law are those who are most often subjected to harassment, threats and violence, according to one of the Bar Association’s previous surveys.
– This incident unfortunately confirms that. In family law matters, you can be extra vulnerable as a lawyer. It’s about cases that revolve around people’s privacy and it can be very upsetting for some, said the General Secretary of the Swedish Bar Association Mia Edwall Insulander to DN earlier this week.
