The Linda Lindas have announced their third album and major-label debut, GOTTA GET OUT, scheduled for release on Aug. 28 via Reprise/Warner Records. The Los Angeles quartet launched the project on July 10 with the lead single “Closer,” which features a collaboration with Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams.
The track represents a significant sonic shift for the group, moving from a bilingual demo written by band members Bela Salazar and Lucia de la Garza into a production characterized by layered vocals and heavy guitars. Williams contributed to the song by recording in person with the band and helping write the bridge, according to the group.
This transition to a major label follows the band’s sophomore effort, No Obligation, released in 2024 through the independent label Epitaph. The move to Reprise/Warner Records coincides with a period of personal and professional evolution for the quartet, who describe the new record as their most expansive collection of work to date.
Collaboration with Hayley Williams on “Closer”
The collaboration between the youth quartet and Hayley Williams was born from a long-standing mutual respect. According to Salazar and de la Garza, the group has followed Williams through her various musical eras, while Williams has observed the band’s growth over the last decade. Williams reportedly told the group that “Closer” reminded her of her own teenage years.

The song’s thematic core focuses on the sensation of losing control of time and the experience of watching oneself age from a distance. “Lately, we’ve been realizing how important it is to stay present, especially when our lives feel constantly in motion,” Salazar and de la Garza stated. They further noted they were honored to work with Williams, whom they referred to as the “queen of emo.”
The recording process for “Closer” was intentionally collaborative. Rather than opting for remote recording, Williams joined the band in the studio to finalize the track’s structure and vocals. Following the sessions, Williams accompanied the band members to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios.
Production of GOTTA GET OUT
The band describes GOTTA GET OUT as a turning point in their career, following years of heavy touring and increasing critical attention. To create the album, the four members retreated to Long Beach and Palm Springs, marking the first time the group wrote together in the same room.
This collective writing process allowed the band to transform spontaneous demos and unfinished ideas into a cohesive album. The result is a project the members characterize as more personal and sonically broader than their previous indie releases.
Upcoming Tour Dates and Festival Appearances
The Linda Lindas will support the new album with a series of live performances this fall. The group is scheduled for a West Coast tour run as the opening act for Bleachers.

Additionally, the band is confirmed to perform at Tom Morello’s Power to the People Festival. This appearance is set for Oct. 3 in Columbia, Maryland.
Fans can expect the full release of GOTTA GET OUT on Aug. 28.
