With the participation of internationally recognized specialists, researchers and companies, the XXIV National Congress of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine is held in the Riviera Maya, which brings together specialists from several states of Mexico.
Amada Cecilia Leal Lozano, general director of the Congress of the National Federation of Colleges of Clinical Chemistry AC (FENACQC), highlighted the technological innovations for the work of chemists-biologists in different fields.
He also mentioned the challenges they face in the face of the constant evolution of various viruses for which they must be protected because they are the first contact when new variants emerge, as is currently the case with typhoid.
Organized with the support of the College of Chemists of Quintana Roo and the State Health Secretariat, the congress presents more than 20 exhibitions, presentations, work tables, conferences and a technological sample so that participants have better tools.
Topics include the Physiology of Haemostasis, taught by the deputy director of the Haemostasis Line of the Licon Institute, Monserrat Jiménez Chavarría; Laboratory Diagnosis of Invasive Fungal Diseases, taught by QFB Jesús Reséndiz Sánchez, from the Children’s Hospital of Mexico, Dr. Federico Gómez; and the Role of Immunological Tests for a Successful Transplant, taught by QGB Adriana Arvizu Hernández, from the Transplant Department of the Salvador Zubirán National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition, among many others.
“We had topics from all laboratory areas, from genetics, blood banking, hematology, tests for oncology, mycology infections,” said Leal Lozano.
The work of pharmaceutical chemists and biologists is to make diagnoses with clinical analyzes and, consequently, they are the pillar with doctors to make a diagnosis for the treatment and monitoring of diseases in the population.
