The patient who was injured following the explosion in a salon of the Infectious Department of the Ploiesti County Emergency Hospital has died, the family’s lawyer, Adrian Cuculis, announced on Tuesday, reports Agerpres.
“The patient who suffered burns following the explosion in the Hospital for Infectious Diseases Ploiesti – Movila has died. We are going to file a criminal complaint for manslaughter. The family also suspects medical malpractice considering that the woman entered the hospital on her own feet, and then ended up being intubated,” the lawyer said.
An explosion followed by a fire took place, last Monday, at the Infectious Diseases Department of the Ploiesti County Emergency Hospital, a patient suffering serious burns.
According to the Prahova Emergency Situations Inspectorate, the explosion occurred in a salon, and an approximately 80-year-old patient suffered burns.
“The victim was in a coma at the time of the explosion, dependent on oxygen. She has burns on 16% of her body surface and at the level of the airways, she will be intubated and transported to UPU Ploieşti”, stated, at that time, the quoted source.
