Previous president of Grupa Azoty Police Mariusz Grab resigned from his position in February without giving a reason. He managed a chemical company for over three years. His successor was elected on Friday, April 26.

The new president, Andrzej Dawidowski, has over 20 years of experience in managing production and sales processes in chemical companies, including Ciech, Grupa Azoty and Tikkurila, serving as president, board member, managing and commercial director. Before his presidency in Police, he was for three years the president of the management board of Ciech Sól Polska, managing director of CIECH Salz Deutschland and commercial director in the Ciech Group. In other words, he worked in important positions within the concern controlled by Sebastian Kulczyk. He has been associated with the Ciech group since 2017.

Previously, he worked in Police for four years, first as a commercial director, and then as the director of the Fertilizers Business Unit.

He completed master’s studies in Political Science at the Institute of Political Science and European Studies at the University of Szczecin. Additionally, he completed postgraduate studies in Business Management at the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Business Management at the University of Szczecin.

Last year, Grupa Azoty Police had over PLN 1 billion net loss. It recorded a negative margin, i.e. sales with losses, on fertilizers and pigments, which was due to, among others, from high gas and electricity prices. Only at the end of the year did their prices drop.

Who are the new vice-presidents of Police?

Paweł Oleksy and Jerzy Woliński became the new vice-presidents of Police. The supervisory board dismissed two current vice-presidents from the company’s management board: Michał Siewierski and Stanisław Kostrubiec.

Paweł Oleksy most recently he served as the general director for controlling at KGHM for three years, previously he was the financial director at Oknoplast for a year and the treasury director at Shell Polska. Even earlier, he held managerial positions at Grupa Azoty for eight years. He also worked at Deloitte Audyt for four years. A graduate of the Krakow University of Economics and the Stockholm University Business School.

Jerzy Wolinski for two years he was the president of the Świnoujście Health Resort, he runs a nursery farm, and previously, for five years until 2016, he was the president of Grupa Azoty Polskie Konsorcjum Chemiczne. He was professionally associated with Grupa Azoty for eight years, starting as vice-president of the company’s chemical rescue unit. A graduate of the Krakow University of Technology. Tadeusz Kościuszko – Faculty of Civil Engineering in the field of construction, specializing in: building and engineering structures and the University of Finance and Management in Warsaw, postgraduate MBA studies.
