Huawei hit the cellphone market again with the release of the Pura 70 line even though it was still hit by sanctions from America.

They can even provide features that are not available on the iPhone, even on the newest iPhone 15 Pro. This feature is related to the satellite connectivity feature, as quoted by detikINET from Phone Arena, Friday (26/4/2024).

As is known, Huawei first introduced satellite connectivity on its cellphones on September 7 2022, namely on the Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro. This release overtook the presence of the Emergency SOS via Satellite feature on the iPhone 14 series, although only by a few hours.

The satellite feature in the Mate 50 series uses China’s BeiDou satellite network, which is used for SMS and navigation features. This satellite connectivity innovation was then developed more widely in the Mate 60 Pro series, which can receive telephone calls via satellite.

Well, the satellite feature was improved again when they released the Pura 70, and this has something to do with the superiority of the Pura series — formerly the P series — in the photography sector.

In the Pura 70 line, satellite connectivity can not only be used to send messages and make telephone calls, but can also send photos via satellite when the cellphone is in an area where cellular signals cannot reach it. This kind of feature is not available on other cellphones in the world, including the latest iPhone.

To be able to send and receive photo shipments via satellite, both the sender and recipient must install the Changlian application. If the recipient does not install this application, only SMS messages can be received.

Of course, photos sent via this satellite will be compressed as small as possible because the bandwidth available via the satellite is limited. As a result, the photos sent tend to be blurry and less sharp.

For this reason, Huawei recommends that this photo sending feature is only used in emergencies. For example, to send a photo of the location when asking for help.
