Río cuarto to re-tender Waste Management Contract
Teh city of Río Cuarto, Argentina, will open bids on February 5, 2026, for a comprehensive waste management contract covering collection, street cleaning, and final disposal. The contract is valued at $161,464,964.184 Argentine pesos and has a term of six years.
Scope of Services
The services to be provided under the new contract are extensive, encompassing a wide range of waste management functions:
- Urban waste Collection: This includes the collection, loading, transportation, and unloading of household waste.
- Street Cleaning: Both manual and mechanical street sweeping,along with the collection and disposal of accumulated debris.
- roll-off Container service: Loading, transportation, and disposal of lightweight waste using roll-off containers.
- Pathological Waste Management: Collection, transportation, and final disposal of pathological waste from municipal public facilities.
- Landfill Operations: Final disposal of household waste at the city’s controlled landfill.
- Lateral Loading Container Collection: Collection, loading, transportation, and disposal of household waste using side-loading containers.
Differentiated Waste Collection
A key feature of the new contract is the implementation of differentiated waste collection. Martín Cantoro, Secretary of Public Works and Services, stated that the tender specifications include provisions for a restructured service with a focus on source separation of recyclables.
