I once playfully asked Trump if he envisioned himself as the first course owner to host a U.S. Open, a british Open, *and* a Ryder Cup. *He seized on the idea instantly.* He’d frequently promote his properties – Trump Bedminster for the U.S.Open, Trump D.C. for the Ryder Cup, and Trump Scotland in Aberdeen for the British Open – through conversations and in publications like *Sports Illustrated*. *He clearly relished the grand vision.* Turnberry, still awaiting his full branding at the time, was also part of this aspiring plan.
His presence at golf events was always… noticeable. *You might recall the story from the 2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black.* Trump arrived in a Rolls Royce, driving directly up to the clubhouse and parking with impunity. *No one dared to intervene.* It was a display of power and access that spoke volumes.

Bryson DeChambeau’s relationship with Trump offers another fascinating layer. *Thier connection extends beyond the golf course.* DeChambeau spent time with Eric Trump after his 2020 U.S. Open victory at Winged Foot,where Donald Trump is a longstanding member. *This relationship was further highlighted during DeChambeau’s “Breaking 50” YouTube series.*
