The ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System) advanced long-range missile attack launched by Ukraine has reportedly killed more than 100 Russian soldiers in Russian-occupied territory.

According to The Institute for the Study of War, Ukrainian forces targeted a Russian military training area about 50 miles behind the front lines in occupied Luhansk Oblast in eastern Ukraine.

According to two videos posted by user

Osintechnical said at least one of the missiles hit more than 100 Russian troops, with hundreds of M74 APAM bombs falling on them. The GeoConfirmed project said four ATACMS were used in the attack, located in the eastern Ukrainian village of Rohove. One of its volunteers shared the footage on X, saying the four attacks happened in the space of a minute.

The attack reportedly came after the US secretly sent about 100 Army Tactical Missile Systems, or ATACMS, to Ukraine last month. The US has previously sent shorter-range ATACMS, but the recently delivered version can travel about 300 km .

Quoted detikINET from Insider, an unnamed senior US official said the Ukrainian army had also used the weapon to attack a Russian military airfield in Crimea in mid-April.

Ukraine said the attack targeted the Dzhankoi military base in northern Crimea, destroying or damaging four S-400 launchers, three radar stations, air defense equipment and airspace surveillance equipment.

The longer-range ATACMS could prove important for Ukraine, as it can hit higher-value targets in places like Crimea, which has been occupied by Russia since 2014.
