UMB can start the actual works for the viaduct over Lake Cernica on Lot 4 of the A 0 Bucuresti Nord Highway. After more than two years, the duration Environmental Studies (SEA) Ministry of Transport issued Construction Authorization for the viaduct with a length of 1274 meters over Lake Cernica, the most important structure of the lot between Autostrada Soarelui -A 2 and Pantelimon/Cernica, lot with a total length of 4.5 km.

A year ago, in April 2023, the Ministry of Transport issued Construction Authorization (Stage I), partial without the viaduct and the passage over the CFR Bucharest-Oltenița line complete, the value of the authorized works being 52 million lei (the contract signed in 2020 being 312 million lei). The duration of the works is 18 months.

The Stage II Construction Authorization, which includes the piles of the Cernica viaduct (19 piles) and the CFR Oltenița crossing (connections with the embankments) has a value of 220 million lei, therefore the two Authorizations so far cover works of 272 million lei from the total contract of 312 million lei.

Lot 4 Cernica/Pantelimin-A 2:

-Passage over the Bucharest Sud – OlteniÈ›a railway (km 51+077), which is 504 m long

–Highway bridge over Lake Cernica and exploitation road at km 49+157 (a first part of the bridge: Culea C1, Pilele P1 and P2), which has a length of 1274 m

Lot 4 North of the A0 has a length of 4.47 km, and its route runs on the territory of Ilfov county between DN3 and the beginning of the A2 road junction (Bucharest-Constanța), within the Pantelimon and Cernica localities. After Autostrada Bucurestiului intersects DN3 at km 47+550, its route continues bypassing the Cernica Monastery property, intersects DJ301 and then crosses Cernica Lake.

Batch 4 continues the first batch of A 0 Sud (Alsim Alarko lot opening at the end of summer) and will connect to Pantelimon with lot 3 North which the Chinese from CCECC will build.
