In a humanitarian gesture, the Egyptian citizen, Hazem Sweid, Head of Operational Risk at the Bank of Egypt, Emirates Branch, who resides in the Emirates, performed a heroic act, as he contributed to saving a family from drowning, after the Emirates was exposed to exceptional weather conditions, which caused heavy rains and floods.

A powerful storm swept the UAE and Oman this week, causing record heavy rains, submerging highways and homes, disrupting traffic and trapping people in their homes.

For its part, the UAE Ministry of Interior confirmed that the efforts of the field work teams worked in a preventive manner to save lives and property.

Following the heroic work of the Egyptian banker, the main headquarters of the Bank of Egypt in Cairo honored and celebrated the Egyptian, Sweid, with full thanks from the bank’s senior management. Mohamed Al-Atribi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Egypt, expressed his pride in the banker’s chivalry and courage.

The bank president stressed that Egypt and the Emirates are one heart that beats with brotherhood and appreciation, pointing to the position of the Emirates as a people and leadership in the hearts of Egyptians, and expressing his hope for the safety of all the Emirates’ people and residents in light of the bad weather conditions that the country has been exposed to.
