With Watch Dogs: Legion we got the last game in the franchise to date and Ubisoft hasn’t really talked about it since that game’s release. The question is whether Ubisoft will ever do anything with the series, because it is very quiet.

According to the YouTuber en Ubisoft insider xj0nathan it’s over and done with the franchise. In a post on x he states that the franchise is more or less dead and buried. This would be because Watch Dogs: Legion flopped, which also ‘destroyed’ the chances of a Battle Royale game

According to the leaker, a relatively original Battle Royale game in the Watch Dogs universe was in development at one point, but because Legion was not the success Ubisoft hoped for, that release marked the end of the franchise.

Not long after the release of that game, the French publisher indicated that it would focus more on successful and profitable franchises, such as Assassin’s Creed. Watch Dogs fans will have to make do with the current games for the time being.
