What We’re Playing This Weekend: A Roundup of Games Capturing Our Attention
It’s good to be back! After a brief… interruption, things are running smoothly, and we’re excited to share what the Rock Paper Shotgun team is diving into this weekend. From chilling horror experiences to sprawling factory builders, there’s something for every gamer. Plus, we want to hear what you’re playing – share your plans in the comments!
Here’s a look at the games keeping us occupied:
Diving into Darkness: Horror Picks
Several of us are seeking thrills wiht atmospheric and unsettling titles.
* Silent Hill f: Edwin is cautiously revisiting this psychological horror game after a power outage mid-playthrough. He’s hoping for a less…escalated experience this time around.
* Eclipsium: also on Edwin’s radar is Eclipsium, an experimental horror title featuring a haunting setting and intriguing characters.
* No, I’m Not a Human: Mark is captivated by the eerie atmosphere of No, I’m Not a Human, planning to dedicate more time to unraveling its mysteries.
Building & Racing: Escapism & Competition
For those preferring a different pace, building and racing games are providing a welcome escape.
* Satisfactory: Ollie is nearing completion of a massive Satisfactory factory build, admitting things have become a bit chaotic in the final stretch. Expect “spaghetti everywhere,” apparently!
* Assetto Corsa EVO & Raceroom: Mark is gearing up for some sim racing, taking advantage of recent updates adding new vehicles and features to both Assetto corsa EVO and Raceroom.
* BeamNG Drive: A bit of vehicular mayhem in BeamNG Drive is also on Mark’s agenda, for when he needs a break from precision racing.
Long-Term Engagements & Persistent Worlds
Some games simply demand continued dedication.
* Hollow knight: Silksong: The elusive Silksong continues to consume James’s time, though he’s optimistically hoping to see the credits roll soon. Ollie is also working on Silksong as part of his job,but is enjoying breaks with other titles.
* Endless Legend 2: Ollie is enjoying the stunning UI and strategic depth of Endless Legend 2, diving back into this complex 4X game.
* Overlord: Jeremy is tackling a real-world building project – a new house! – and jokingly compares the spider-infested cellar to a dungeon crawler, even contemplating a “Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord” sticker for the door.
A Timeless Void
* Nic: Nic drifts, timeless, in the ether.
