A woman from Bacău bought one suc packed in a cardboard box intended for children from a store in Bucharest. Disturbed by the unusual taste of the juice, the woman chose to cut open the box to investigate. The surprise was huge when he discovered a dense layer of mold inside the box, just above the liquid.

Even though the juice had not yet reached its expiration date, according to the label on the package, the product showed obvious signs of deterioration and contamination. Horrified by her discovery, the woman filmed the entire situation and shared the footage on various social media platforms, asking for advice and support from the online community.

“I feel sick, actually! God forbid! Can someone tell me what to do in this situation? I bought this juice and it tasted a bit weird and looks like this. The expiration date was December 12, 2024, the product was bought yesterday,” the woman said on social media, according to cancan.ro.

Numerous users encouraged the woman to contact the store in question and file a complaint with the National Consumer Protection Authority (ANPC). They suggested that the problem could be related to either improper storage of the product or errors in the packaging or sterilization process.

Further checks on other products in the same batch were also proposed to assess the extent of the problems. In such cases, it is essential that consumers know their rights and act accordingly in such situations in order to protect their health and enforce quality and safety standards. Traders offering damaged or dangerous products risk severe penalties under current legislation, including fines and temporary or permanent closure of business establishments.
