WhatsApp has designed a system that allows you to view and manage storage on the platform, which now distinguishes two tabs -Chats and Channels- and that improves the task of freeing up space dedicated to images, documents and videos, among other files.

This messaging service developed by Meta currently has a section where you can check the storage and data used, as well as network usage and automatic file downloads. This tab is located in the Settings section.

The ‘Manage Storage’ folder shows the storage in use and the free storage. It also shows the list of Chats with saved contacts, the files that have been shared with them and their size.

The company has modified this section with new filters that distinguish the space dedicated to Chats and Channels. Likewise, it has implemented a tab that combines both tabs, ‘All’.

With this feature, discovered in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android 2.24.10.8, available to testers through the Play Store, the ‘app’ seeks to make users focus on specific types of content.
