Unexpected Charges at Vannes Restaurants and Clubs
Customers of several establishments in Vannes, Morbihan – including the tapas restaurant Chez Woody, the Funky monkey bar, and the QG Club – experienced unexpected charges to their bank accounts on January 6th and 7th, 2026. Customers were subsequently reimbursed as of January 30th, 2026. The issue stemmed from a technical incident at Monext, a payment processing company.
What caused the Erroneous Charges?
The problem originated with a “technical incident” at Monext,a payment solution provider used by several banks including Caisse d’Épargne, Boursorama, Crédit Coopératif, and Crédit Mutuel Arkéa. Monext acts as the intermediary between banks, payment cards, and merchants.
How Were Customers Affected?
