Innova Reborn Remains a Strong Contender in Indonesian Auto Market
Despite the release of the newer toyota Innova Zenix, the Innova Reborn continues to perform remarkably well in the Indonesian automotive market. Data from Gaikindo for 2025 shows the Reborn recording 30,578 units in wholesale distribution, a mere 78 units behind the Zenix’s 30,656 units. This close competition raises the question: how is an older model still managing to compete so effectively with its replacement?
Regional Demand and Engine Preference
According to Henry Tanoto, Vice President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), the continued success of the Innova Reborn stems from distinct regional preferences and consumer demand for diesel engines. The Zenix is more popular in Java, while the Reborn maintains strong sales in other regions of Indonesia.
