Wisdom Kwati Smart City Launches ₦500bn Wellness & Resort City in Abuja’s Kuje Corridor

Wisdom Kwati Smart City PLC has officially unveiled Usulo City, a ₦500 billion master-planned residential and mixed-use development spanning approximately 300 hectares in Kuje, an emerging investment corridor within the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja. Marketed by its developers as Africa’s first wellness city, the project integrates residential neighborhoods with commercial hubs, healthcare facilities, hospitality assets, and recreational infrastructure to reshape urban living in Nigeria’s capital region.

The launch of Usulo City arrives as sustained infrastructure investment by the Federal Capital Territory Administration alters the landscape of Abuja’s outer districts. Over the past year, targeted transport initiatives including the Idu–Zuba Road, the Airport–Kuje Road, and the Kuje–Gwagwalada Dual Carriageway have shortened travel times and improved regional connectivity. These upgrades have transformed Kuje from a quiet satellite town into a focal point for long-term residential and commercial real estate development.

Speaking at the official project launch, Chairman Wisdom Kwati explained that the strategic choice of Kuje was directly informed by current infrastructure improvements and the district’s growth potential. “Every major city reaches a defining moment when infrastructure, vision and private investment begin to align. We believe Kuje is approaching that point, and Usulo City represents our contribution to shaping what comes next,” Kwati stated.

Master Plan and Phased Infrastructure Development

Structured across ten phases, the Usulo City blueprint incorporates an array of amenities designed around modern urban health and lifestyle concepts. The master plan features dedicated residential communities, a golf course, an artificial beach, shopping and entertainment facilities, schools, healthcare services, an independent power plant, and supporting commercial zones. According to corporate representatives, the entire design prioritizes green spaces and wellness integration into daily routines.

Managing Director Zara Kwati emphasized that the project aims to establish enduring economic vitality alongside quality residential options. “Cities are no longer measured only by the number of houses they deliver. They are increasingly judged by how well they support businesses, families and communities over time. That thinking has shaped every stage of our planning for Usulo City,” Zara Kwati noted during the unveiling.

Beyond providing housing units, developers anticipate that the multi-phase construction schedule will yield employment opportunities while attracting institutional investors, businesses, and commercial service providers to the axis.
