Marvel Studios has reversed its previous decision and cancelled Wonder Man
Season 2 at Disney+, just four months after initially renewing the Hollywood-set superhero comedy. Star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II addressed the surprise decision on social media, telling fans that life moves forward while expressing gratitude for the Emmy-nominated series.
The sudden reversal brings an abrupt end to the critically acclaimed streaming series after a single eight-episode run. Disney initially greenlit a second season in March, roughly two months after the entire first installment debuted on Disney+ in January.

Lead actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II took to Instagram to address the sudden cancellation with a measured and gracious perspective. Playing aspiring Hollywood actor Simon Williams, the actor earned a 2026 Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance.
