YLANG – Foreign companies on observation mission in Nosy Be

The missionaries visited the CEG Bemanondrobe to identify CSR actions to prioritize.

Malagasy ylang-ylang is gaining more notoriety on the international market. Promising business partnership opportunities are emerging after the visit of four foreign companies to Nosy Be.

For several days, Belgian, Japanese and American companies have been carrying out an observation visit to ylang-ylang production in Nosy Be with a view to commercial partnerships with cooperatives of planters and producers of essential oils. The Nosy Be essential oils platform, which brings together all the ylang-ylang producer cooperatives in this city, received the mission. “After prospecting missions and discussions led by the platform, this visit marks another step in the partnership process with these companies before concluding order agreements. Visitors were able to directly observe the plantations, the production methods, assess the production potential, study the market and learn about the history of the sector,” explained Adolphe Samsidine, president of the Nosy Be essential oils platform.

“The mission was a great success,” shares the boss of Nosy Be essential oils. “All requirements have been met.” If some believe that the matter is in the bag, he prefers to remain optimistic. “Investors have expressed their enthusiasm to us. We are very confident that the feedback from their mission will reach us within the next two months at the latest. In addition, the global reputation of our precious Malagasy species for their superior quality is firmly established,” he added.

Social responsibility

This field observation mission follows the various prospecting missions carried out by the platform with the aim of promoting Malagasy ylang-ylang on the international market, in particular that carried out in Japan at the beginning of last February.
