Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya shared the balance sheet of the operations called “Cage” against organized crime organizations in his statement on his social media account.

Accordingly, in 2023, 420 organized crime gangs, including 11 international, 14 national, 56 regional and 339 local, were collapsed.

Of the 420 criminal organizations, 142 were in the category of qualified armed organized crime gangs, of which six were international, two were national, 13 were regional and 121 were local. Of the 420 gangs, 270 are organized, 128 are narcotics and 22 are cybercrime gangs.

“WE WILL BE ON THEIR NECKS”

Stating that the operations will continue, Yerlikaya said:

– I want our dear nation to know that; We are determined to cleanse our country from national and international organized crime organizations and poison traffickers, no matter what size they are, no matter what bulletin they are called for, and we will achieve this with your support and prayers. We will bring them to justice one by one. It is never possible and impossible for us to ignore those inside our cities while fighting the bandits beyond our borders. Just as we enter the dens of the bandits in the mountains, we are riding on top of the city bandits, we will ride on them. We will continue to be on the necks of organized crime groups for the peace and security of our country.

In the first six months of Yerlikaya’s ministry, who was appointed as the Minister of Internal Affairs on June 3, 2023, 191 gangs were busted. After the first six months, operations were carried out almost every day in December and January, and the activities of many criminal organizations were put to an end.
