5 UNJ explanation regarding 93 ‘Internship’ students to Germany indicated as TPPO

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police uncovered the crime of human trafficking (TPPO) by sending students to internships through the program Holiday job to Germany. Jakarta State University (UNJ) is one of 33 campuses that sends students to the program.

There were 93 UNJ students who were victims of ‘internships’ in Germany. The following are several UNJ explanations regarding the case.

1. UNJ Takes Legal Steps

Secretary of Edura UNJ, Syaifudin, revealed that the Ferienjob internship program was initially known to the campus after being introduced by PT SHB and CV Gen. Therefore, UNJ is preparing legal action regarding the losses experienced by the campus.

“UNJ will take legal steps to report material and immaterial losses committed by SS, PT SHB and CV-Gen,” wrote Syaifudin on the official UNJ website www.unj.ac.id, Monday (25/3/2024).

2. Offered by lecturers from campuses in Jambi

Syaifudin revealed that UNJ initially learned about the Ferienjob internship program in Germany in February 2023. UNJ was offered this international internship program to Germany by a lecturer at a university in Jambi.

“February 2023 begins with the arrival of SS, who is a lecturer at a university in Jambi Province, and his team to UNJ to offer an International Internship Program to Germany,” he added.

3. PT SHB and CV-Gen say Ferienjob is recognized by RI-Germany

Furthermore, on May 6 2023, SS returned to UNJ to present the international internship program to Germany by inviting and introducing PT SHB and CV-Gen. PT SHB and CV Gen presented about this international internship program.

“During the presentation at UNJ, SS, PT SHB and CV-Gen assured UNJ that PT SHB is a company that has a legal entity based on number AHU-02200096.AH.11 of 2021 and that the International Internship Program in Germany according to them is recognized by the German Government and Indonesia,” he added.

Even SS, PT SHB and CV-Gen said that the International Internship Program in Germany had been participated in by many universities in Indonesia before UNJ.

“When asked whether this was really an internship program, SS, PT SHB, and CV-Gen stated and guaranteed that this was an internship program that was carried out for 3 months,” he said.
