1. What is the difference between botulinum toxin and fillers?
In short, the biggest difference between botulinum toxin and fillers is that with fillers you fill something up, so to speak, which restores lost volume, while botulinum toxin ensures that you temporarily cannot move a muscle. This is because the nerves cannot transmit the signals to the muscle. The effect of botulinum toxin is temporary and lasts between three and six months. Fillers are gels that consist of hyaluronic acid, a natural molecule that also occurs in our skin without a filler treatment.
The Skin Clinic works with two types of fillers: Belotero fillers and Radiesse fillers. The first consists of a body’s own substance, which makes it safe and effective for filling wrinkles. The second type, Radiesse fillers, stimulate the production of collagen in your skin. This is minimally invasive. These fillers can be easily combined with other facial fillers or other procedures.
