Thiruvananthapuram: 51,000 rupees were found near the booth on the polling day in Malayinkeez. 51,000 was found abandoned on the stairs near Booth 112 at Machel LP School.
500 notes are in excess. There are three or four notes of 200 and 100. The money was first spotted by a man standing in line to vote at the booth around 8:30am. Later, others also came to know about the incident.

Then the panchayat member was informed. Officials visited the spot and checked, prepared a mahazar and transferred the amount to the Malayin Keez treasury. The incident happened in the morning. But so far no one has come forward to show that the money was lost. An investigation is also underway whether the money was lost from the hands of those who came to vote or the money arrived in some other way.
