9 people, including 8 women, who lost their lives in the accident in which a concrete mixer and a minibus collided in Gaziantep’s İslahiye district, were buried side by side in the rural Yeşilyurt District.

The accident in Gaziantep occurred yesterday at noon in Ağabey District of the district. The concrete mixer with plate number 27 AJT 349, driven by Mehmet G., who was going from İslahiye to Hatay, and the passenger minibus with plate number 27 K 5127, driven by Latif Örs, collided head-on.
The wrecked minibus with 19 people inside fell into the ditch. 8 people died and 11 people were injured in the accident. Upon notification to the 112 Emergency Call Center, many health, fire, police and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene of the accident. The injured people were taken out of the minibus and taken to Islahiye State Hospital by ambulance. However, one of the injured could not be saved despite all the efforts of the doctors.
Gaziantep Governor Kemal Çeber, who inspected the scene yesterday, said that according to the first findings, the concrete mixer crossed into the opposite lane and hit the village minibus. While the teams continued their research on the speed and wheel tracks of the vehicle, Governor Çeber stated that the first opinion was that the truck was quite fast.

Among those who lost their lives in the accident, Şükrü Sağlam (71) was a farmer, Rakibe Erinemez (32) and Hatice Gönen (44) were housewives, Sena Taşkın (18), Ümran Yıldırım (15), Elif Görmez (17), Sultan Erinmez (17). It was stated that 18), Sude Çelik (18), and Sibel Sağlam (18) were high school students.

It was learned that all of the students who lost their lives in the accident were students of the Health Department of Farabi Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and were doing their internship at İslahiye State Hospital. While it was learned that Sultan Erinmez, one of those who lost their lives, was the valedictorian of the school, it was learned that Sena Taşkın’s twin sister, Sude, was also injured in the same accident. It was reported that Hatice Gönen had 2 disabled children and was taking care of them.
WERE BURIED SIDE BY SIDE
A funeral ceremony was held in Yeşilyurt District of the district for the 9 people who lost their lives in the accident. To the ceremony; Deputy Minister of National Education Nazif Yılmaz, Gaziantep Governor Kemal Çeber, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin, district mayors and many citizens attended. After receiving the blessings in the neighborhood square, we moved to the area where the funeral prayer would be performed. Relatives of the dead closed their eyes on the coffins and shed tears during the ceremony. After the funeral prayer performed by Provincial Mufti Hüseyin Hazlar, 9 people were buried in Yesilyurt Cemetery.
TREATMENT OF THE WOUNDED CONTINUES, THE TRUCK DRIVER IS IN CUSTODY
On the other hand, while 5 of the 10 injured were discharged, it was learned that the treatment of the other 5 people in the hospital continued and only Emine Y.’s life was in danger. Concrete mixer driver Mehmet G. was taken into custody after his treatment.

Mehmet Göğüş, the driver of the concrete mixer that collided with a minibus in the accident in which 9 people lost their lives, was arrested by the court.
