Los Angeles, CA – Motorists traveling along State Route 2 in West Los Angeles and the Echo Park area should anticipate overnight lane closures and parking restrictions beginning January 25th and continuing through January 31st, 2026. These closures are part of a $70.2 million multimodal pavement improvement project designed to enhance safety and extend the lifespan of the roadway.
Project Details and Scope
the project, overseen by Caltrans, encompasses a notable stretch of State Route 2, from Centinela Avenue in Santa monica to its terminus in Echo Park. It is divided into three segments:
- segment A: Santa Monica Boulevard between Centinela Avenue and Interstate 405 in West Los Angeles.
- Segment B: Santa Monica Boulevard between La Brea Avenue and U.S. 101 in Hollywood.
- Segment C: Alvarado Street and Glendale Boulevard between the U.S.101 on- and off-ramps and the State route 2 terminus in Echo Park.
Work will include essential curb, gutter, and sidewalk repairs, primarily conducted overnight between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Parking restrictions will be in effect 24 hours a day throughout the construction period.
