Scabies Case Reported at ⁤Flevoziekenhuis ⁢Hospital

A case of scabies has been identified in a patient⁢ at Flevoziekenhuis hospital in Almere, Netherlands. The hospital has implemented isolation measures for the patient adn is notifying individuals who may have been in⁢ contact with⁤ the case, including patients and staff from the oncology/hematology department.

Scabies is a contagious skin condition caused by a parasitic mite that burrows into the skin, leading to intense itching ‍and skin irritation. While highly contagious, scabies is not considered dangerous⁢ and is treatable with medication.

Currently, no further cases have been detected, ⁣and the hospital assures patients and ⁣visitors that there is no increased risk and that they can continue to visit the facility safely.
