Until now, the arrival of spring had not been felt. But the forecasts of Meteo France for the next few days suggest a turnaround in the situation. A heat peak, well above seasonal norms, could be recorded in several cities in France this Saturday April 6. Temperatures could approach 30°C, according to Météo-France forecasts.

While this Tuesday, April 2, the maximums are around 12 to 16°C in the north and up to 20 or 21°C at the foot of the Pyrenees and near the Mediterranean, from Thursday, 20°C will be reached over the entire half south of the country. The night from Thursday to Friday also promises to be hot in the South-West, particularly in Biarritz, with 21°C expected overnight.

“Extraordinary heat peak”

Even if meteorologists announce the start of a rise in temperatures this Friday, it is on Saturday that the heat wave will cover France.

The maximums could reach 28°C in Paris, 25°C in Tours, 27°C in Auxerre, 24°C in Lyon and 29°C in Tarbes. Temperatures will rise to 31°C in Bourges, in the Centre-Val de Loire. However, in Brittany, the latter should not exceed 22°C.

“The month of April could well start with a first peak of extraordinary heat by Saturday in France. Incredible anomalies are modeled by the European ECMWF model », explains on X (ex-Twitter) Anthony Grillon, meteorologist.
