The actor Ovidiu Pîrsan moves in a wheelchair following a road accident. The difficulties he is going through are all the more to be appreciated, claims PNL president Mehedinți, who expressed his full support for him.

“He is a model for many of us, that’s why I am very proud that he is part of the PNL Mehedinți family. Even more, we are glad that we can support his dream: to be a candidate for the mayor’s office of Vlădaia commune! Ovidiu wants to be the mayor of the commune where he was born, to be among his people! And we are honored to support him and, at the same time, I trust that he will be supported by voting and by the citizens”, conveyed the president of PNL Mehedinți and former Minister of Economy, Virgil Popescu.

Ovidiu Pîrsan is 38 years old and has been in a wheelchair for 15 years. He was the victim of a road accident in Greece, however, he is socially and politically active. The PNL candidate for Vlădaia City Hall is Romania’s proposal for the Oscars. It is part of the film “Don’t expect too much from the end of the world”, a production that emphasizes inner strength in extreme situations.

“That he is a businessman who manages to find his purpose despite the disability he suffers from is one thing, but that he used his way of being to collect donations that materialized in the renovation of two hospital rooms is something with everything special. Entrepreneur, philanthropist, Oscar-winning actor and future mayor in the town where he was born”, PNL representatives sent on Facebook.

The local elections will take place on June 9, 2024. On the same date, Romanians are expected to vote and to nominate their MEPs, the governing coalition has established.
