The airlines Latam Airlines Group (SN:) and Aerolíneas canceled flights this Thursday, 9th, with origin or destination in Argentina because of the general strike against the government of Javier Milei announced in the country. The strike was called by the General Confederation of Labor (CGT), Argentina’s largest trade union federation.

Argentina’s Aerolíneas canceled 191 flights, in a decision that will affect around 24,000 passengers and represent a cost of approximately US$2 million for the company, according to a statement from the airline published today. Of the total, 18 thousand passengers would travel on domestic flights, 3 thousand on regional flights and another 3 thousand on international flights.

Those who have not yet rebooked their tickets will be able to do so free of charge for another date up to 7 days after the strike. Aerolíneas asks passengers, in the note, not to go to the airports or their agencies tomorrow, as their employees will not be there.

Chilean Latam passengers will also be able to change their tickets at no additional cost for up to 7 days later, or request a refund for unused tickets. The information was released by the company in a statement today.
