The landscape of home-based medical services is undergoing a significant transformation as technology-driven firms seek to streamline the administrative burdens that often complicate patient care. Adaptive Innovations, an AI-native home health care provider, has officially emerged from stealth mode, announcing a $60 million total funding injection. This capital includes a $50 million Series A round announced on Tuesday, alongside a previously undisclosed $10 million Seed round.
The company, which maintains a presence in New York City and Dallas, has positioned itself as an AI-native organization. According to leadership, this designation signifies that the platform is built on an artificial intelligence foundation from the ground up, rather than integrating AI tools as supplemental features for specific tasks. By automating back-office functions—including intake, eligibility verification, scheduling, medical coding, and quality assurance—the company aims to reallocate resources toward clinical care.
Strategic Funding and Operational Focus
The Series A financing round was led by Felicis. It also featured significant participation from a group of investors, including Bain Capital Ventures, Optum Ventures, Sunflower Capital, Conviction, BoxGroup, the Dorm Room Fund, and Constellation. The funding round included contributions from angel investors associated with OpenAI.
Alex Wendland, co-CEO of Adaptive, noted that the investment community responded positively to the company’s business model, which seeks to prioritize clinician compensation by reducing administrative overhead. “We don’t play reimbursement games or rely on these short-term government programs,” Wendland stated. “What we’re doing is simple: it’s driving the admin costs to zero, and then recycling those savings into higher clinician pay and a compounding flywheel that lets us serve the entire home health market.”
Scaling the AI-Native Model
Since its launch in 2025, Adaptive has focused its operations on major metropolitan areas throughout Texas. The company currently reports a workforce of over 200 clinicians and has completed more than 100,000 patient visits. The goal for the coming year is to scale these operations, with the ambition of providing skilled home health services to patients across the state of Texas and eventually expanding its footprint to a national level.
The company operates under a payer-agnostic model, accepting Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and various commercial insurance plans. However, leadership indicated that the majority of its current arrangements are with non-Medicare payers. The provider remains flexible regarding reimbursement structures, working within fee-for-service, episodic, and value-based care agreements.
Future Directions and Technological Integration
The integration of AI into health care delivery is a central component of the company’s growth strategy. Adaptive’s internal engineering team, comprised of more than 30 professionals, is tasked with building proprietary tooling to support clinical staff. By focusing AI applications on bureaucratic processes rather than the patient-clinician interaction itself, the company intends to maintain a high standard of human-centric care.
“Everything we do, we have AI tooling for, so that we can let clinicians focus all of their effort on treating the patient,” Wendland explained. “We’re able to do this because we’ve combined world-class engineering talent with world-class clinical operators.”
Looking ahead, Adaptive Innovations plans to broaden its service lines, with leadership stating that no area of home-based care is currently off the table. As artificial intelligence models continue to evolve, the company anticipates that these advancements will provide further opportunities to reduce the bureaucratic friction often associated with delivering high-quality medical services in the home setting.
