Akira Yamaoka Announces First U.S. Tour: A Cinematic Journey Through Iconic Soundtracks

Legendary composer Akira Yamaoka, renowned for his groundbreaking work on the silent Hill series and Lollipop Chainsaw, is embarking on his inaugural U.S. tour in February 2026. Yamaoka’s music has defined a generation of psychological horror and action games, and now you have the chance to experience it in a completely new way. A Legacy of Sound
For those unfamiliar, Yamaoka’s career is nothing short of remarkable. He joined Konami in 1993 and quickly became a pivotal figure in their sound design,composing music for dozens of titles.
he’s perhaps best known for his work on every Silent Hill game, starting with the original in 1999 and continuing through Silent Hill: Shattered Memories in 2009. After leaving Konami,he joined Grasshopper Manufacture,but has sence returned to contribute to the highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill f.
This tour represents a full decade since Yamaoka’s last live performance, a memorable Silent Hill Live tour in the UK. It was a truly surreal experience, blending live music with the game’s haunting visuals – a testament to the power of Yamaoka’s compositions.
