AMENDMENT FINANCE LAW – The reduction of public expenditure in preparation

A few days after the publication of a note from the budget department of the Ministry of Economy and Finance announcing the reduction in credits allocated to institutions and ministries, the Council of Ministers ratified this decision. Indeed, the report of the last weekly meeting of the Executive indicates that those in power have given their approval to the reduction in public spending, resulting in a budget cut at the level of institutions and ministries.

The latter have already transmitted, in accordance with the requirements of the budget department, their budgetary situations as well as the adjustments to be made in their respective budgets. The Council of Ministers announced that these modifications will be integrated into the Amending Finance Law. In principle, this LFR 2024 will be debated during the next ordinary session of parliament, scheduled to start next week. However, the uncertainty regarding the holding of this session could delay the examination of this finance law by parliamentarians.
