Amitabh Bachchan Overwhelmed by Grandson Agastya nanda’s Performance in ‘Ikkis‘
Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has publicly lauded his grandson, Agastya Nanda, for his compelling performance in the upcoming war drama, Ikkis. Bachchan’s heartfelt praise,shared on his personal blog following a Mumbai screening,highlights Nanda’s maturity and captivating screen presence. The film, directed by Sriram Raghavan, is set to release January 1, 2026.
Bachchan reflected on witnessing Nanda’s journey – from holding him as a newborn to observing his dedication to acting. He recalled memories of Nanda’s infancy, noting even the color of his eyes, and traced his path to pursuing a career in film. This personal connection clearly informs his excited assessment.
The actor specifically praised Nanda’s portrayal of Param Vir Chakra awardee Arun Khetarpal, a young soldier martyred during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Bachchan emphasized the authenticity of Nanda’s performance.

Interestingly, Bachchan’s review did not mention the final performance of veteran actor Dharmendra, who also appears in Ikkis as brigadier M.L. Khetarpal, Arun’s father. Dharmendra passed away in November 2023, and Ikkis marks his last on-screen appearance. This omission has drawn attention from fans and media outlets.
