After the commotion that arose last week following an online message about trans women, Anouk started talking to a trans woman. The singer shared on Instagram on Monday that she experienced this conversation as “incredibly nice and educational”. With the message she places a selfie with the trans woman in question.
“After all the responses to my message last week, I received an invitation by email for a special and enlightening meeting with Milly Lanser, a trans woman from Hoorn,” Anouk writes. “No damage control or excuses, but a loving, honest and frank conversation in which we shared several insights about our lives.”
Anouk also wishes Milly “good luck” with her transgender operation, which will take place next week. “I think you are brave and strong,” says the singer, who also says she will visit Lanser after the operation.

48-year-old Anouk shared a photo of her period on Threads a week and a half ago. “Cutting off your pee does not make you a woman. But this is. Am I being canceled now?” she wrote. Anouk received a lot of criticism, including from well-known Dutch people such as Tim Hofman, Nikkie de Jager and Claudia de Breij.
