Renée Zellweger and Ant Anstead have no current wedding plans as they mark five years together, according to a July 24 interview. The television presenter stated they are very happy and do not need the pressure of a label, dividing their time between California and the English countryside.
Ant Anstead Addresses Marriage Rumours After Five Years Together
Five years after first crossing paths on the set of a television production, Renée Zellweger and Ant Anstead are keeping their romance free of traditional milestones. The television presenter addressed persistent speculation surrounding their relationship status in an interview with The Telegraph published July 24, clarifying that a trip down the aisle is not on their immediate horizon.
While the couple have faced occasional, unverified engagement rumours over the years, those reports were later confirmed to be untrue. The pair originally connected through a shared appreciation for automobiles after meeting on the set of his show Celebrity IOU Joyride. Despite the presenter occasionally referring to the Oscar winner as “the missus” in casual conversation, he made it clear that formal nuptials are not currently scheduled in their diaries.
“I still believe in marriage, but right now we’re really happy. We don’t need the pressure of a label.”

Quiet Life Shared Between California and the English Countryside
The couple maintain a notoriously private domestic life, splitting their time between California’s Orange County and the English countryside in Hertfordshire. According to regional reporting details, the television host has been going through the process to obtain a green card as he plans to settle in America permanently. He noted that he established a really lovely ecosystem where his older kids went to boarding school in the UK, they would have time in California, and he would travel to them, adding that he is fully American and uses words like “sidewalk”. His older children are from a previous relationship, and he also has a seven-year-old son, Hudson, with Christina Haack, who lives in the US.
In the UK, the pair have devoted time to overseeing the restoration of an old farmhouse which he bought for his parents. The television personality credited the actress with taking charge of plans for the house because she is very, very good at designing.
“She’s been a big influence on that; she’s very, very good at designing. So, I’m obviously going to take advice from the person who’s way better at houses than I am.”

Shared Passages and Mutual Appreciation
Beyond architectural projects, the couple share an affinity for hands-on automotive restoration work, and the 47-year-old television host previously recounted how seeing the Bridget Jones’s Diary star welding helped win him over because he discovered she is a hands-on car girl.
“One of the many, many things that attracts me to Ren is that she’s a hands-on car girl. It’s really cool that we met on a car show. She welded – I mean, how cool is that?”

He further described her character during his interview with The Telegraph, stating:
“She’s a very real person. She’s absolutely brilliant, the most grounded, humble person. If there’s a car job to be done at home, I say, ‘We’re doing this together. Put your overalls on, let’s go.’”

He added that he is constantly being advised because she is the greatest human he has ever met.
Both individuals bring prior marriages to the relationship. The 47-year-old TV star was previously married to Louise Storey (also referred to as Louise Herbert) from 2005 to 2017 and to Christina Haack from 2018 to 2021. The Oscar winner was previously married to country singer Kenny Chesney for four months in 2005. Today, however, the couple have been together since 2021 and remain focused on their ongoing restoration work and quiet routine across two continents without altering their relationship status.
