Apple Remains World’s Most Valuable Tech Brand as Samsung Hits Record Valuation

Apple remains the world’s most valuable technology brand with a valuation of $607.642 billion, according to the “Technology 100 2026” report by brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance. While Samsung Electronics reached a record brand value of $97.415 billion, it dropped to eighth place globally, overtaken by the rapid ascent of Nvidia amid the artificial intelligence chip boom.

The Brand Finance data shows Apple’s valuation grew by 5.8% year-over-year, maintaining its lead over a top quartet that includes Microsoft, Google, and Amazon. This ranking highlights the continued dominance of the U.S. tech sector, which accounts for 46 of the top 100 brands and represents 77.7% of the index’s total $3.7 trillion value, according to the report.

The shift in rankings reflects a transition in the industry. Nvidia’s brand value surged 109.8%, jumping from $87.871 billion last year to $184.322 billion, securing the fifth position and pushing established consumer-facing brands further down the list.

Nvidia’s AI Surge and Samsung’s Record Valuation

Samsung Electronics experienced a significant individual gain, increasing its brand value by 8.9% to reach $97.415 billion, up from $89.427 billion the previous year. Brand Finance attributes this growth to an improved corporate earnings outlook and rising global demand for advanced memory semiconductors.

Despite this record-breaking figure, Samsung slipped from seventh to eighth place. The primary driver for this descent was Nvidia, whose valuation jumped to $184.322 billion. This leap allowed the semiconductor firm to surpass TikTok, Facebook, and Samsung in the global rankings.

The impact of the AI boom is not limited to Nvidia. Other semiconductor and hardware firms showed varying results. For example, memory supplier SK Hynix rose to 28th place with a 15% increase, reaching a valuation of $15.8 billion, which the report links to its leadership in high-bandwidth memory.

The Scale of Social Ecosystems and Global Market Shares

The report reveals a distinct gap between individual brand rankings and the actual financial power of integrated ecosystems. While Meta’s platforms are listed separately, combining the brand values of Facebook (7th) and Instagram (9th) results in a total of $187.884 billion.

If treated as a single entity, this combined social ecosystem would technically surpass both Samsung and Nvidia to claim the fifth spot globally. This underscores the sustained financial value tied to consumer-facing platforms even as AI infrastructure companies see explosive growth.

Geographically, the United States continues to hold a commanding lead in the tech landscape. China ranks second with 25 brands, representing a 12.6% share of the total index value. This position was bolstered by TikTok, valued at $153.5 billion, and battery manufacturer CATL, which climbed to 18th place following a 53% increase in value.

South Korean Tech Performance Divergence

Samsung remains the only South Korean company to maintain a position within the elite top ten. However, the broader South Korean tech sector displayed a fragmented performance in the 2026 rankings.

While Samsung and SK Hynix benefited from the semiconductor cycle, other domestic giants saw declines. LG Group fell eight places to 44th with a valuation of $9.6 billion. Similarly, e-commerce platform Coupang dropped to 49th place at $8.8 billion. In contrast, the search engine Naver climbed to 95th place, valued at $3.7 billion.
