The Application Workshop for the practical training of candidate judges and prosecutors within the ‘Turkish Justice Academy’ affiliated with the Ministry of Justice was opened today. The training workshop, opened by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on the -3rd floor of the Istanbul Palace of Justice, has a meeting room, a prosecutor’s room on duty, a courtroom and a practice workshop room to be used in practical training.

Three separate events are enacted in the Application Workshop. The aim of the fictional events is for prosecutors to gain practical knowledge about what to do and how to act during crime scene investigation in the face of real events when they start their duty. In the prosecutor’s office and the courtroom, the aim is for candidate judges and prosecutors to overcome their excitement at the bench with practical training and to gain practice in the real prosecutor’s office and the courtroom when they start their duty. In the Application Workshop, candidate judges and prosecutors who attend the training will have the opportunity to apply their professional skills in practice.

“WE WILL TRAIN US WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE MASTER – APPRENTICE RELATIONSHIP”

Istanbul Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Mehmet Yılmaz introduced the Application Workshop. In his statement regarding the practice, Yılmaz said, “As the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, we are carrying out the necessary work to train our candidate judges and prosecutors in order to better provide justice services to our citizens in an effective and efficient manner. As it is known, our esteemed minister issued a regulation regarding the institution of assistant judges and prosecutors yesterday.” It was published in the Official Gazette. Here, our esteemed Minister of Justice made statements that we will now train our assistant judge-prosecutors within the framework of the master-apprentice relationship and put them at the service of justice. Here, we are turning the theoretical knowledge gained by our judge-prosecutor candidates into practice by drawing lots and serving. “We think that they will perform justice services better by putting their practical knowledge into practice in the field where they receive training,” he said.
