“It’s not hard to get re-excited for something, as I don’t think the excitement for the project ever goes away,” Winter explained. “It’s harder to have to remind yourself that, ‘Okay, it’s going to come out at some point.’ It’s hard to have to push down the excitement more than anything.”
Think about it: you pour yoru energy and creativity into a role, finish recording, and promptly want to share it with the world. Animation, however, requires extensive post-production.
“When you finish doing it, you’re like, ‘Gosh, I can’t wait to see how they put it together! I’m so hyped to see it!’ And then you have to remind yourself, ‘Okay, it takes time.Like, everything takes time. Animation takes even longer.'”
This experience highlights a key difference from live-action projects, which generally have shorter post-production schedules. Even so, all filmmaking involves a period of waiting. Winter’s perspective is relatable to anyone involved in creative endeavors.
Passion Fuels Continued Enthusiasm
Ultimately, Winter’s ability to stay engaged stems from a genuine love for her work.
“So it’s harder as you really have to push down the excitement more than bring it back up,” she said. “And I don’t think it ever really goes away, because when you love what you do, it’s exciting all the time, and you hope that everyone gets to see all the projects that you do eventually.”
This passion is evident in her diverse choices. Beyond The Sisters grimm, Winter has appeared in the 2023 comedy Tripped Up and has three films slated for release in 2025: the drama Like Father Like Son, the coming-of-age dramedy Pools, and the Zoom-style horror Don’t Log Off.
