The fight took place in the evening at Şanlıurfa Intercity Bus Terminal in Esentepe District. Allegedly, an argument broke out in the bus company office between two groups, who had previously been at odds over a debt-receivable issue. The argument that ensued soon turned into a fight in which kebab knives, sticks and guns were used.
The incident left the passengers terrified and turned into a war zone as a result of random gun fire. In the fight intervened by the bus station police, 10 people, including 2 police officers, were injured in various parts of their bodies.
Upon the report of a fight, many medical and police teams were dispatched to the scene. While the police teams arriving at the scene took extensive security measures in the area, the injured were taken to Mehmet Akif İnan Training and Research Hospital after the first intervention of the medical teams. It was learned that Halil Deveci, one of the injured people under treatment, lost his life, while the treatment of the other injured people continues. Halil Deveci’s body was taken to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy.
