His extremely rare case fascinates the scientific world. As noted by the magazine Science & Vie, in China, Alzheimer’s disease was diagnosed in a 19-year-old young man. He thus obtained the record of the youngest person known to be affected by this disease.

It was when he was 17 that the first symptoms appeared, in this case memory problems. His problems subsequently worsened: the teenager had difficulty reading, remembering the events of the day before, remembering where his things were, etc. A year after his first medical appointment, he announced that he suffered from immediate memory loss, after three minutes and after thirty minutes. Doctors rated his overall memory score as 82% lower than those of his age. For immediate memory, it fell by 87%.
