Senators Stifle Avalanche Offense in 5-2 Victory
The Ottawa Senators defeated the Colorado Avalanche 5-2 on Wednesday night at canadian Tire Center, substantially slowing down Colorado’s typically high-powered offense. The Avalanche managed a season-low 18 shots on goal.Mackenzie Blackwood made 18 saves, but Colorado has now lost seven of its last 11 games following a strong start to the season.

Claude Giroux gave the Senators a 3-1 lead early in the third period, capitalizing on a 2-on-1 opportunity after a long pass from Nick Jensen.
