Australian racing team Volante Rosso Motorsport will compete in the 2026 Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour with both a McLaren 720S GT3 EVO and an Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3,marking a notable step in their challenge for the 2026 GT World Challenge Australia championship. This participation also signifies the start of a new partnership with mclaren Customer Racing.
McLaren 720S GT3 Campaign
Volante Rosso Motorsport has secured a McLaren 720S GT3 EVO for the Bathurst 12 Hour, aiming to compete in the Silver class. The driver lineup features reigning Super2 champion Rylan Gray, and Carrera Cup Australia race winners Bayley Hall and Marcos Flack. The team is finalizing the selection of a fourth driver, with an announcement expected shortly.
Team owner Josh Hunt is scheduled to test the McLaren at Queensland Raceway to finalize preparations before the race. This event marks Gray’s debut in the 12 Hour race,following his recent confirmation as a full-time Supercars driver with Dick Johnson Racing. While new to GT3 cars, Gray has a strong background in sports car racing, finishing second in the last two GT4 australia Series seasons with George Miedecke in a Ford Mustang.
