Briatico Launches “Solidarity Clinic” too Improve Healthcare Access
The municipality of Briatico, Italy, is moving forward with the establishment of a “Solidarity clinic” (ambulatorio solidale) at the Centro Polifunzionale di Briatico. Officially presented on July 12, 2025, the clinic aims to reduce healthcare disparities and provide accessible care to vulnerable populations and those facing difficulties accessing traditional health services.
The project, a collaborative effort between the Briatico municipality and the Order of Physicians of Vibo, has recently secured funding for essential medical equipment through municipal determination 161. Purchases will include a 12-lead electrocardiograph with maintenance options, a medical supply cart, a foldable examination table with integrated roll holder, a two-step medical stool, four three-panel room dividers, examination table sheets, and a weight scale with height measurement capabilities.
The clinic will operate on a volunteer basis, offering consultations from qualified medical specialists, technicians, and nursing staff – all providing their services free of charge. The initiative has already received endorsements from the “Città Attiva” Civic Observatory of Vibo and the “Insieme per il Bene Comune” association, highlighting its potential positive impact on the community.
